Kids
Children’s Services include programs, outreach, and resources designed for children from birth to age 11, as well as their parents or caregivers. The Library offers storytimes, books, and activities to help nurture a love of reading and learning. We also have children’s areas in every library where children can read, play, and learn.
Meet Dubi Monster
Dubi is a 6-year-old friendly monster who loves books and encourages his friends, young and old, to read. Serving as the mascot for Children’s Services, Dubi proves that reading can be a “monsteriffic adventure” through stories, jokes, song, and dance.
Dubi hosts live, sing-along puppet shows at all St. John the Baptist Parish Library branches. He can often be found performing at schools, daycare centers, and other community outreach events. Through his educational “Let’s Go Library” video series, Dubi has explored the farm, fire station, zoo, aquarium, the theatre, and more. He’s even been interviewed by Fox8 news! You can watch Dubi’s videos on the St. John the Baptist Parish Library YouTube channel. Dubi’s upcoming Live shows will be listed on the online calendar.
