Outreach

St. John the Baptist Parish Library’s services extend beyond our physical locations. We are committed to providing all community members access to our staff, resources and services. Our goal is to provide services to some of the highest need and under-served populations in our community.

Children

Children’s Outreach Services presents story times and provides materials and books to children who would unlikely use the traditional library facilities. This service is provided to introduce and encourage children to listen to and read quality literature, and to promote the library throughout the community.

Children’s Outreach Services include attending school literacy nights, book, science and social studies fairs and back to school events. Additionally, library tours are offered to teachers, students, and parish residents at all four of our locations.

Please direct outreach and library tour requests to Children’s Librarian Trina Smith at [email protected].

Adults

St. John the Baptist Parish Library shares community resources at health fairs, job and career fairs, and other community events. The Library can also arrange programs for adults through the local ARC organizations and Council on Aging Senior Centers. For more information, please contact Rona Joseph at [email protected].
