Back by popular demand, Power Rangers are returning to St. John the Baptist Parish Library this August to help you “Power Up” for a new school year. Learn how to defeat the evil Lord Zedd during Power Rangers Mission Training with the Blue Ranger. Kids will create and battle Zords using Edison Bots from the library’s MakerSpace, while teens create their own Dino Charge Energem necklaces. Then, patrons of all ages will put their battle skills to the test with a Power Rangers “Battle for the Grid” video game tournament at the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library in Reserve. All month long, you can challenge yourself to a Megazord Mayhem scavenger hunt at all library branches. Read the August 2024 edition of The Bookmark for more Back-to-School fun!
Attending library programs is a wonderful way to learn new skills. Kids can visualize the layers of our wetlands by making edible swamp snacks. Teens and tweens can create decals and mascot buttons to personalize their school gear. Since learning never ends, there’s just as much for adults to experience during this time of year. Each week, there will be a different training in the MakerSpace at the Reserve Branch. Learn the dos and don’ts of using the Cricut, 3D printers, sublimation printer, heat press, and laser engraving machine.
As students, families, and teachers begin a new chapter for the 2024-25 school year, St. John the Baptist Parish Library is also embarking on a new journey.
