April MakerSpace Workshops

Enjoy a month full of S.T.E.A.M. activities in the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library MakerSpace, located at 1482 Highway 44 in Reserve. Workshops are typically held in the mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. and in the evenings from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Attend a training and earn a badge of completion to use the equipment for personal projects!

Sawgrass Sublimation Printer & HTV Ront Heat Presses (April 6-9)

During the first week of April, come to the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library MakerSpace to learn how to use the Sawgrass Sublimation Printer and Heat Press. We will discuss the dos and don’ts of the equipment and how to successfully operate both machines  Learn about finding images, using Canva to enhance the images, and the differences between sublimation prints and regular prints. We’ll also learn how to properly tape down the image with heat tape and safety precautions when the heat presses.

HP DesignJet Large-format Printer (April 13-16)

This week, come to the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library MakerSpace to learn how to use the HP DesignJet Large-format Printer to create banners and posters up to 44 inches wide! We will discuss the dos and don’ts of the equipment and how to successfully operate it.  Learn about the different types of paper that can be loaded, the files that can be read by the printer, and how to get the best images printed out for your prints.  Patrons will have the opportunity to find images and have them printed out to take home.

Epilog Laser Engraver (April 20-23)

This week, come to the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library MakerSpace to learn how to use the Epilog Laser Engraver! We will discuss the dos and don’ts of the equipment. Learn how to use the operating system, CorelDraw, and popular sites such as Cuttle, Imag-R and Illustrator.  Patrons will be able to create different designs on different materials such as wood, glass, acrylic, fabrics, and more.
