Material Donations

St. John the Baptist Parish Library accepts material donations including fiction and nonfiction books, local history and genealogy books, craft books, cookbooks, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD.

The Library is not able to accept magazines, encyclopedia sets, legal books, textbooks, moldy or damaged books, video or cassette tapes, vinyl records, software on a CD or disk, or nonfiction books that are more than 10 years old.

Gifts, Donations, and Endowments

As public employees, staff members cannot receive tips, money, donations, or other personal gifts of monetary value.

Employees can receive:

  • promotional items with no substantial resale value.
  • small food items for immediate consumption by the library staff.

The Library Director is authorized to accept gifts, donations, and endowments to the Library. Patrons will receive a donation acknowledgment receipt stating the gift was accepted without conditions and will not be returned on any date in the future.

Community members may also support St. John the Baptist Library by participating in the book sale or other Friends of the Library programs. Contributions help fund Library programs and Summer Reading activities for children, teens, and adults.

Please contact Library Director Andrea Tullos at [email protected] for questions regarding donation procedures. We greatly appreciate your support!
