An open house with refreshments will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11 for prospective students interested in learning more about St. John the Baptist Parish Library’s Excel Adult High School Program. The open house will take place on the second floor of the Leroy D. Williams Memorial Library, located at 1482 Highway 44 in Reserve.

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to earn your high school diploma, this is it! Excel Adult High School is a 21.5 credit online high school completion program that allows public libraries to offer accredited high school diplomas (not an equivalency exam like the GED) to adults who wish to prepare for entry into the workforce, further their career, or attend college. A limited number of scholarships are available. If eligible, there is no cost for this program.

Academic coaches and one-on-one AI-powered tutoring are available to support each student. Students are given up to 24 months to complete the self-paced program, though many can graduate sooner depending on the number of credits transferred and the amount of time dedicated to completing the coursework.

Prospective students must be at least 18 years old, reside in St. John the Baptist Parish, have or be willing to obtain a library card, and have successfully completed the eighth grade. Up to 16 transfer credits can be accepted with an official transcript after completing the pre-requisite course.
